Though we're sure Sherlock fans remain sorry that the show's creators are turning their attention to another project, the fact remains that Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss are busy with their latest shown drawn from classic literature. And now we have the first look at the title character, via the initial images of Danish actor Claes Bang as Count Dracula in, well, Dracula.
And with the new image comes fresh information, as we now also know that Lyndsey Marshal, Chanel Cresswell, Matthew Beard, Lydia West, Paul Brennen, Sarah Niles, Sofia Oxenham, John McCrea, Phil Dunster and Millicent Wong have been added to the cast, which already included John Heffernan, Joanna Scanlan, Dolly Wells, Sacha Dhawan, Jonathan Aris, Morfydd Clark and Nathan Stewart-Jarrett.
Looking to put their own spin on the bloodsucker (though keeping with his period trappings), Dracula starts in Transylvania in 1897 as he plots against Victorian London. Below, you can see him in slightly more bloodthirsty mode
Sherlock veteran director Paul McGuigan is on board for one of the three feature-length initial instalments, joined by Jonny Campbell and Damon Thomas. There's no word on a premiere date yet, but the show will air on the Beeb in the UK and on Netflix elsewhere.
