It may still be nameless, but Cameron Crowe’s new, currently in production romantic drama is no longer imagery free. The writer-director has premiered the first picture from the film, featuring leads Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone sitting in a small plane’s cockpit.
Appearing on Crowe’s site, The Uncool, the pic is featured in a news post titled 'Gilcrest & Ng – Day 22'. Since Cooper’s character is called Brian Gilcrest, we can only assume that Stone’s heretofore unnamed leading lady boasts the surname Ng. We’ll have to wait and see if that holds up.
Cooper’s Gilcrest is a defence contractor who is sent to Hawaii to oversee the launch of a brand new weapons satellite from the island. Yet his mind is swayed in another direction when he meets an Air Force pilot (Stone), encounters mysterious island forces and begins to question whether the launch should go ahead at all.
Filling out the typically eclectic Crowe ensemble are John Krasinski, Danny McBride, Rachel McAdams, Jay Baruchel, Alec Baldwin and Bill Murray. The film doesn’t have a set release date yet, but should see the inside of cinemas in 2014.
