With the American Gods team headed to the San Diego Comic-Con this week, we'll be seeing (and hearing) more from the show. And an new image from the series has arrived online, featuring Yetide Badaki as the sensual Bilquis.

In the story, she's an ancient goddess of love who has seen her worshipper count drop as the centuries have passed. She's eager to find some relevance in today's world. She's not alone in that – in Neil Gaiman's award-winning tome, the traditional gods of mythological roots from around the world steadily are losing believers to an upstart pantheon of gods reflecting society’s modern love of money, technology, media, celebrity and drugs. There is a conflict coming between the two sides and unexpectedly thrust into the middle is Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle), an ex-con who becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane), a conman who just also happens to be one of the older gods, on a cross-country mission to gather his forces in preparation to battle the new deities.

With Bryan Fuller and Michael Green as show runners, the series' cast also features the likes of Gillian Anderson, Emily Browning, Peter Stormare and Pablo Schreiber. It should be on TV screens next year.
