USA Today has your first look at The Smurfs, the live-action reboot of the old cartoons about the tiny blue dudes (and dudette), and a few details about the film.
We already knew that comedy god Neill Patrick Harris would be playing one of the human leads, along with Glee's Jayma Mays, and that Hank Azaria will play Gargamel. But we now know that Gargamel no longer wants to eat the Smurfs (too scary) but instead wants to exploit them for their magical abilities.
The film, directed by Raja Gosnell and also featuring everybody from Katy Perry to Sofia Vergara to Anton Yelchin and Alan Cumming, will open in July 2011 in the US, and no doubt thenabouts here in the UK.
