As promised last month with the teaser, New Year's Day heralds the first substantial look at John Krasinski's sci-fi thriller sequel A Quiet Place Part II. Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe are back for more noise-cancelled adventures in a world that's been overrun by deadly aliens attracted by sound. Here's what's in store for them this time.
The first film began with a dangerous trip to town before measuring the rest of its length at the Abbott homestead. This one looks to flip that, with our surviving heroes leaving home behind to try their luck out in the wider world, encountering other survivors along the way. But as newcomer Cillian Murphy observes, the people that are left might not necessarily have been worth saving...
Studio Paramount has also released an official synopsis, which runs thusly: “Following the deadly events at home, the Abbott family must now face the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence. Forced to venture into the unknown, they quickly realize that the creatures that hunt by sound are not the only threats that lurk beyond the sand path.”
Djimon Hounsou is another new co-star, with Krasinski returning as writer and director. A Quiet Place Part II is released on March 20.
