Entertainment Tonight has secured the first footage from Bryan Singer's Valkyrie, which you can see by clicking on the magical little box below. Or click here if you're using Firefox, as the box seems to hide on that browser.

So, aside from the fact that Americans talk VERY LOUDLY when trying to convey excitement about a movie, what do we learn here? Well, there's a lot of plot stuff that anyone who's read about the movie will already know, i.e. that it's the story of Claus Von Stauffenberg (Tom Cruise), a German officer in World War II who was a key part of a failed plot to blow up Hitler.

We do get a sense of a look that Singer's going for though. Much of the footage is B-roll, but there are a few snippets of actual film footage, which show a fairly moody, shadowy, almost painterly look. There's also suggestion that Singer's painting on a very large canvas, with lots of shots of armies, planes and large crowds running through what looks fairly inexplicably like a school hall.

What do you think? Excited?
