It seems to be a morning for haunting stories. Charlize Theron is setting up **Two Eyes Staring, and The Haunting in Georgia** has its first cast member, in the diminutive form of Emily Alyn Lind.

Following on from The Haunting in Connecticut, Georgia tells another story loosely based on a supposedly real happening, with another family in another state undergoing more supernatural shenanigans in a new home. It'd directed by Tom Elkins (who edited Connecticut) and written by David Coggeshall (head writer on TV series' Watch Over Me and Desire).

If Emily's the main focus of the haunting, then it looks as if the film, with such a young protagonist, is trying for a Shining / Poltergeist vibe. Not an unreasonable ambition. The young actress (daughter of director John Lind and actress Barbara Alyn Woods) has Eastwick, Medium and All My Children on her TV CV, and movie-wise was previously in The Secret Life of Bees. She's also in Gaspar Noe's Enter the Void, so she should have plenty of experience of horrifying mad craziness to carry her through this.

The Haunting in Georgia starts shooting in November. Next for the franchise, if all goes to plan, is The Haunting in New York.
