Among the films that were still to be released when Fast & Furious veteran Paul Walker tragically died last year was District 13 remake Brick Mansions. The producers opted to go ahead with the film’s scheduled roll out, and the first poster has arrived online.
Set in a near-future Detroit,** Brick Mansions** sees Walker playing Damien, an undercover detective chasing a stolen weapon of mass destruction. When he learns that the man responsible – a violent drug dealer – has taken it into the ghetto known as Brick Mansions, he reaches out to the agile Lino (David Belle) for help. Lino knows the place better than anyone and isn’t afraid of the drug dealers who run the place like their own little kingdom.
With Belle providing more of the Parkour stunts and skills he brought to the original District 13 and its sequel, he’s sharing the poster with Walker and RZA, who plays kingpin Tremaine. Though there’s a touch of the generic floaty head style about the image, there is at least an attempt to do something vaguely different with it.
Brick Mansions will arrive in the US on April 25, but there’s no UK release set just yet.
