With shooting wrapped for a while on the hotly anticipated solo adventure for Chadwick Boseman's Black Panther, it's finally time for our first proper glimpse at the new movie. Check out the teaser trailer below and spy T'Challa on his throne lower down the page via the poster...
Black Panther, co-written by Ryan Coogler and Joe Robert Cole (and directed by Coogler), takes us back to Wakanda, which we've briefly glimpsed in Marvel movies past, most notably at the end of Captain America: Civil War. But now we get a proper look at the place and its people, as T'Challa formally ascends to rule the kingdom in the wake of his father's death and faces new challenges from within and without.
Notable among the threats are Erik Killmonger (Michael B. Jordan, reuniting with his Fruitvale Station and Creed director), Winston Duke as M'Baku and Andy Serkis as the vengeful Ulysses Klaue.
Yet our hero will have some help, not least from the formidable force of Wakandan women, the Dora Milaje, who we met briefly in the shape of Florence Kasumba's Ayo in Civil War.
The trailer looks stylish and cool, aiming to explore both the world and the titular hero in action – even as he has to realise just what he's up against.
Lupita Nyong'o, Danai Gurira, Angela Bassett, Forest Whitaker, Sterling K. Brown and Martin Freeman are also in the cast for the film, which leaps into UK cinemas on 16 February, which in a rare case for a Marvel title, is the same day as the States.
