No, you’re not going crazy. Warners Bros is remaking Gaslight.
Joe Wright, who recently directed Pride And Prejudice, will take the helm for his first American film, which revolves around a woman targeted by a money-hungry suitor, who lures her into a house of horrors and tries to make her believe she’s going crazy.
The story is based on a 1938 play by Patrick Hamilton and has been put on the big screen twice before- in 1940 by us Brits and in 1944, in an MGM classic that scooped seven Oscar nominations and saw star Ingrid Bergman take home a statuette. This version will transplant the plot from the UK to the States. There's no word on casting but we'll keep you informed.
