Following on from Thursday's news of Henry Cavill jumping aboard to play Sherlock Holmes in Enola Holmes comes word that Killing Eve's Fiona Shaw will also join the new movie.

Millie Bobby Brown will star as Enola the film, which features a script by Jack Thorne adapting Nancy Springer's book series. Launching in 2006 with The Case Of The Missing Marquess, Springer's tomes tell the tale of Sherlock and Mycroft's much younger sister, Enola, who turns out to be a highly capable detective in her own right.

Helena Bonham Carter's aboard to play Enola's mother, and with Eve veteran Harry Bradbeer in the director's chair, this casting represents a reunion for the two. The Hollywood Reporter wasn't able to dig up details on Shaw's character, but how much fun would it be to see her playing a different take on Moriarty? The film's in pre-production now, and will be on screens next year.

Shaw will next be found in period drama Ammonite alongside Saoirse Ronan and Kate Winslet.
