"Is that a monkey?" one of the troopers in Kong: Skull Island exclaims upon getting hist first glimpse of the title character. No, he most certainly is not a monkey, and saying that sort of thing is probably what gets you into trouble. Well, that and the myriad other dangers lurking on Skull Island. See the new, purportedly final trailer for the movie, which is fairly spoiler-tastic on the creature front. You've been warned...

The mission here involves a military group commanded by Lieutenant Colonel Packard (Samuel L. Jackson), a photojournalist (Brie Larson's Mason Weaver), a former SAS officer-turned-tracker (Tom Hiddleston's Captain James Conrad) and some shady corporate types with their own interests represented by John Goodman heading to Skull Island, where nothing could possibly ever go wrong. Sorry, that's Puppy Island; Skull Island promises almost certain doom.

There, the new arrivals meet the quirky Hank Marlow (John C. Reilly, bearded up to level 7), who explains there are greater threats lurking here than the giant ape. He calls the creatures "Skullcrawlers" for no other reason than it sounds cool. And soon our heroes are fighting for their lives, while also realising that Mr. Kong is more of a lonely protector of the island than something they need to be scared of. You know, despite him smashing helicopters and stomping around the place...

Directed by Jordan Vogt-Roberts, Kong: Skull Island will be in UK cinemas on 10 March.
