What. A. Big. Surprise. Despite all the hoopla about Warners and New Line touting The Final Destination as the last chapter of the death-hunts-teens franchise, studio bigwig Alan Horn announced at ShoWest yesterday that another movie is in the works.
Yes, it would appear that the $180 million that the last film made around the world might just have convinced the studio execs to loosen the ol’ purse strings and get another tale of complicated death scenes cranking away.
No word on whether series stalwarts Glen Morgan and James Wong or even David R Ellis will be along for the ride this time, but channelling our sooper sekrit sykik powerz, we can tell you it’ll be in 3D (the last one was, and apparently everything will be eventually) and photogenic teens will be slaughtered in various convuluted ways after initially escaping certain disaster thanks to a vision.
Wonder if they’ll hype this one as the first in a brand new series? Or, failing that, it'll be announced as a reboot of the first film...
