Despicable Me 3 Minions

At this point in the franchise's existence, you know fairly well what to expect from a Despicable Me movie: lots of Dru (Steve Carell) buffoonery, some gadget action and plenty of Minions babbling or laughing. Despicable Me 3 is looking to mix things up by adding a sibling for our villain-turned-hero in the shape of his long-lost twin brother, Dru. Check out what is advertised as the "final" trailer below.

With Gru at a loose end after being fired as a secret agent in the wake of a less-than-successful encounter with villain Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker), the main man and wife Lucy (Kristen Wiig) are surprised to learn that Gru does, in fact, have a twin brother.

Trouble is, Dru still wants him to embrace the dark side of his nature, and return to the family legacy of villainy and crime. Which is music to the ears of the Minions, who have been growing increasingly annoyed (and mutinous) at all of Gru's good works. Quite why they end up in prison remains to be outlined, but it appears fans of the little yellow beasts will be happy.

Despicable Me 3 heads our way on 30 June.
