Chalk another likely Wes Anderson newbie up for the cast of The Grand Budapest Hotel: according to Variety, Ralph Fiennes is now making a deal to appear.
While the Moonrise Kingdom director is being typically cagey about releasing plot details of his latest, the cast list has definitely begun to leak, with regular partners in crime such as Bill Murray joined by fresh faces including Jude Law (who pestered Anderson for a part) and Angela Lansbury, who has since revealed that she’ll only be making a brief appearance as “a woman of mystery.”
Fiennes’ eventual role looks to be a bit more substantial, as he has not just a name – M. Gustave – but also a job as the hotel’s composed concierge.
What else do we know? Well, it’s set in Europe and should be filming in Germany shortly (though Anderson, naturally, works to his own schedule). Fiennes will next be seen in Skyfall, followed by Great Expectations, which is out on November 30. He’s also got his latest directing/starring job, The Invisible Woman, set to arrive next year.
