Signs movie memorabilia for sale

Some film fans collect autographs. Others choose to spend their pennies on props or posters from their favourite movies. That's something we can understand, even applaud. But what kind of fan in their right mind is going to hand over hard cash for a bent stalk of corn? That's the question an American collector is hoping to answer after putting a bent cornstalk from M Night Shyamalan's crop circles film Signs on the internet auction site Ebay. The stalk in question comes from a field in Pennsylvania where a local film buff spotted his chance to make a quick buck. 'Knowing what the movie's plot was about,' the seller states on Ebay, 'I was smart enough to pick up some of the cornstalks from the crop circles, where the actual filming took place.' If you've got money to burn, the stalk's currently going for just over $50 in an auction that ends on 13 August.
