Chalk up another one of those projects that emerges from the depths of Hollywood coughing and spluttering, without a plot detail to its name: Andy Fickman, who directed The Game Plan and Race to Witch Mountain, has signed on to direct Boy Scouts vs. Zombies.
Production Weekly tweeted about the project, which as of right now exists largely as a comedy/horror spec script written by Carrie Evans and Emi Mochizuki. The writers have just one credit to their name so far: 2008’s Martin Lawrence comedy College Road Trip.
While, as mentioned above, there’s very little else on record about the likely movie just yet, the mere title alone promises bloody, scout-terrorising fun. Wonder if there’s a proficiency badge for zombie slaying? And, let’s face it: anyone who has ever been a cub or a scout knows there are far worse things that you can experience at camp* than flesh-feasting undead types.
Fickman has Kristen Bell/Betty White/Sigourney Weaver comedy You Again about to be unleashed and he’s got lots of potential projects floating around his schedule already (including Anna Faris pic TMI), so it remains to be seen whether this new movie will jump to the head of the queue or wander the nooks and crannies of his brain like a zombie looking for sustenance.
**It involved a really nasty toilet. I’ll say no more. *
