Wallace and Gromit: The Curse of the Were-Rabbit topped the US box office this weekend with a healthy but not spectacular $16.1 million, comfortably ahead of Flightplan, which finally fell to the number two spot in its third weekend, with $10.8 million this weekend and $60.9 million overall.

Third, fourth and fifth places went to new releases, with Curtis Hanson's sibling drama In Her Shoes taking $10 million; Al Pacino and Matthew McConaughey's betting drama **Two for the Money **taking $8.9 million and church-based drama The Gospel with $8 million – despite opening at only a quarter as many cinemas as its competitors.

All of that pushed The Corpse Bride into sixth place with $6.5 million, and new restauraunt-set comedy Waiting… to seventh with $5.7 million. A History of Violence, Serenity and Into The Blue rounded out the top ten, with Serenity sadly dropping 51% in its second weekend to take just $4.9 million.
