Chow Yun Fat has thrown off his action shackles to go all mushy on his fans in a new romance. According to screendaily.com, Chow has signed up to do Waiting, a $15 million love story set in China during the Cultural Revolution. Chow will play an army doctor who enters an arranged marriage and has to wait 18 years before he can be with his true love, a woman he met on an enforced military march. To our mind, the part sounds very much like the role that Chow took on in Ang Lee's Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon. 'This is a very Chinese kind of subject, but we will make it with a Hollywood studio-sized budget,' says Allan Fung, co-CEO of Applause with the film's director Peter Chan. 'Chow Yun-Fat is attached, we are finalising his terms and casting the female lead.'
