We doubt he'll get to dub himself Mary Poppins for this one, but Michael Rooker is bringing his trademark tough guy/comedy stylings to the Fast & Furious franchise for Fast & Furious 9.
According to Deadline, Rooker is playing someone named Buddy who will presumably have a thing for cars and Corona. Will he be a bad guy? Will be actually be a bad guy who turns out to be a good guy down the line and join the team like approximately 1/3rd of the cast? Only time will tell.
Regulars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Ludacris, Tyrese Gibson and Jordana Brewster are this time joined by a returning Charlize Theron and Helen Mirren, plus franchise new face John Cena. Justin Lin is back in the director's chair, while Daniel Casey wrote the script, since regular Fast scribe Chris Morgan was busy overseeing Hobbs & Shaw.
Whatever vehicular mayhem and family orientated bonding occurs, Fast & Furious 9 will be in cinemas on 22 May next year.
