It was up to usual Fast & Furious PR manager - who usually prefers to be known as Vin Diesel – to drop two particular pieces of news: firstly, that the new Fast film is called Fast X. And secondly, it has started shooting.
Yep, while it sounds like Diesel is trying to introduce Xs into all of his big franchises (what next, The RiddiX?), or possibly a new wonder drug to help cure... well, make your own joke.
Justin Lin is back behind the director's wheel for this latest instalment, which is keeping its story a secret for now.
What we do know is that Diesel's Dom Toretto and much of the regular gang will be back, once more facing off against the machinations of Charlize Theron's Cipher and a new villain played by Jason Momoa.
Up in the air in terms of who they side with are fellow new recruits Brie Larson and The Suicide Squad's Daniela Melchior.
Fast X (we still agree with who first pointed out that it should be called Fast Ten Your Seatbelts) will screech into cinemas on 19 May next year.
