After celebrating the 100th screen appearance of Quahog's finest on Fox, Seth MacFarlane revealed that plans for a Family Guy movie are well underway.
Family Guy creator MacFarlane told Wired mag that discussions with the studio have already taken place to bring the Griffins and their Prius-driving, Martini-sipping beagle Brian to the big screen. "We want to do it. Fox wants it. We know what we want to do with it. It’s just a question of finding the time. That’s why The Simpsons took so many years to do theirs. They just couldn’t fit it into the schedule."
So when can we expect a feature-length dose of irreverence and in-jokery? "We’re in the early stages right now," says MacFarlane. "There’s so much to do for a weekly animated series — twice as much as you have to do for a live-action show. So, we’re finding time where we can."
This'll be the second feature-length Family Guy, after 2005's straight-to-DVD Stewie Griffin: The Untold Story, and will hopefully be truer to the spirit of the show - and funnier - than The Simpsons Movie turned out to be. With plenty of knowing movie references and a smattering of bullfrogs{
More as we get it. In the meantime, let us know what you'd like to see in a Family Guy movie...
