Fallen Virtues For Colin Farrell?

It's a busy, high-profile time for Colin Farrell, who already has Fright Night, Horrible Bosses and David Cronenberg's Cosmopolis in his diary. And he may be about to scribble in one more project. If the stars align, Farrell could co-star with Eric Bana in the indie drama **By Virtue Fall. We'd call it a comeback, except he was never gone.

The two-hander would be the directorial debut of Sheldon Turner, who co-wrote Up in the Air with Jason Reitman, and got an Oscar nomination for his trouble. Deadline's synopsis describes "a professional and personal relationship between two characters that evolves from friendship to betrayal and retribution", while IMDb gives us "a newly-released ex-con seeks revenge upon his mentor who framed him for a crime he didn't commit."

Potentially toothsome roles for the boys then, although they're some way from actually signing on the dotted line at this stage. Bana and Farrell's people are apparently underwhelmed by the deals on the table, regardless that the actors both "sparked" on the script and are keen to work together.

Voltage Pictures' Nicholas Chartier (The Hurt Locker) is co-producing with Turner. There are no distribution deals or start-dates set yet, so this one may be some way off.
