Marvel's Disney+ series The Falcon And The Winter Soldier was originally meant to be the first of the MCU’s upcoming run of streaming series, though – like most other projects – it was delayed by the Coronavirus with a few scenes still to shoot. But having resumed production in recent months, the show will follow hot on the heels of WandaVision’s January debut, finally arriving in March next year. And to mark that, a new full trailer has touched down, as revealed at the Disney Investor’s Update.
Set in the wake of Endgame, the series finds Anthony Mackie's Sam Wilson/Falcon grappling with being Steve Rogers' chosen inheritor of Captain America's shield and responsibilities. The US government has other ideas, and there will be new threats to deal with in between Sam and Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) trading barbs. The pair’s hilarious dynamic was already apparent in Civil War, and this trailer promises a banquet of bickering and blazing action – just check out that insane tracking shot as Falcon swoops through a canyon in a helicopter-based set piece.
And that’s not all – we get a proper look at Daniel Brühl back as Civil War’s scheming, vengeful Helmut Zemo, as well as another masked foe who looks to be causing major trouble for our leading duo. Elsewhere, the series will see Emily VanCamp return as Sharon Carter, and introduce Wyatt Russell as comic book character John Walker/US Agent. It’s a very promising first look – bring on the entire series when March comes around.
