Factory Girl Caught In Legal Case

Distributors sue over US rights

What we have here is a failure to communicate… Sony Pictures in the US is suing the producer and production company of Edie Sedgwick biopic Factory Girl.

The lawsuit claims that Girl producer Holly Wiersma had agreed to give Sony North American distribution rights in an agreement reached last October. The only slight hitch in this otherwise perfect plan is that all those rights were bought, along with several other country’s release rights, by The Weinstein Company at Sundance.

Sony is seeking $6 million compensation.
