Spacey and Bridges close the London Film Festival

Crowds five deep braved the London winter last night to catch a glimpse of the stars at the closing gala for the London Film Festival. Happily they were rewarded for their diligence with a bevvy of British talent as well as the two stars of the film in question - K-Pax - Kevin Spacey and Jeff Bridges. 'I'm just so excited that on this blistering night that such a huge crowd turned out,' was Spacey's take on the night. 'They were all very kind - a lot of Americans amongst them wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving.' The actor arrived in London at the weekend and attended a charity event for the victims of September 11th at which he startled guests with a rendition of Hey Jude. 'There's no album in the works,' Spacey assured Empire Online. 'I felt in the last month and a half with all the charity events that I needed to do something and I wanted to do something that was surprising to an audience because most people don't know that I sing.' Asked what he felt about recent aspersions cast on the bravery of his fellow actors, Spacey was quick to jump into the fray. 'I just don't think that's true... I know the head of British Airways made a statement that all American actors are cowards but I think that was a regrettable comment made in the frustration that the airline industry was suffering.
