Coming off of a big success with one franchise extension, in Jumanji: Welcome To The Jungle, Sony is trying to nudge another onto a faster track after a few years of false starts and different ideas. The studio has Fast & Furious 8 director F. Gary Gray in talks to direct the Men In Black reboot.

Though there had been plans to cross the series over with the Jump Street movies, the current idea is simply to chronicle a new chapter in the secret law-keeping force that polices the planet's truly alien immigrant population. Matt Holloway and Art Macum have written a script that got the movie the greenlight, and now Gray is circling the director's chair.

Don't expect to see Will Smith or Tommy Lee Jones return for anything other than a cameo (and we wouldn't expect Jones to show up at all): this will be Jurassic World-style film that maintains the concept while introducing a new cast. The movie is aiming to be out on 14 June 2019.
