Who needs a mystical hammer? Or a magical axe? Or a fancy red cape? Tyler Rake, Chris Hemsworth’s other action mega-hero, sure doesn’t, judging by the intense new trailer for his Russo brothers-produced Netflix sequel, Extraction 2. In these two minutes alone, we see Rake (yes, that is his real character name, promise) take what should surely be a lethal blow to the head, batter a police officer with his own riot shield, and punch a load of blokes whilst his arm is on fire – and that’s all in one sustained shot, following the mercenary as he tries to break a woman free from prison. Oh, and then he shoots down a helicopter in the snow. Go on, liven up your Monday afternoon. Watch it below:

As you’ll remember from the climax of 2020’s Extractionspoiler warning, if you haven’t seen it yet, though this is shown through flashbacks in the trailer_–_ Tyler was shot in the neck and fell off a bridge, with audiences unsure whether he lived or died. Turns out, he did both – as a voiceover tells us in this new teaser, he was “clinically dead just nine months ago”. And yet he’s back on his feet here, having fought his way through recovery to take on a new mission – this time, he’s rescuing the battered family of a ruthless Georgian gangster. It’s an incredibly well put-together trailer, with minimal dialogue from Hemsworth, and taken up mostly by a prison brawl that sees the camera swinging around in a seemingly continuous shot. Most importantly, it promises lots and lots of action. (Extra-action, if you will.) Rake-fu, anyone? John Wick would be jealous.

Extraction 2 arrives on Netflix on 16 June.
