After a stint in Costa Rica, M. Night Shyamalan's After Earth is currently back and shooting in his home town of Philadelphia. With Men In Black 3 already in the can, the interplanetary epic offers the second part of a Will Smith sci-fi one-two and reunites him with his son Jaden for the first time since The Pursuit Of Happyness.

Playing mum in this rockstar on-screen family is the very talented Sophie Okonedo: "It’s a futuristic film and I play the wife of Will Smith and the mother of Jaden. We have another daughter – Zoë Kravitz - so I’m the only unknown," she laughed. "I’ve been having a really good time. They’ve all had to do loads of prep but not so much for me."

Unusually this one isn't written by Shyamalan. Stephen Gaghan and** The Book Of Eli** scribe Gary Whitta have penned the script which sees the two Smiths trying to survive on a now-abandoned Earth after their spacecraft crashes, while Okonedo's mother frets many parsecs away.

Jaden Smith's rubberised suit strikes a nice balance between lithe and futuristic. We'd like to see Ray Mears pulling this look off.

Expect After Earth to land sometime in June 2013.
