With its debut at the Glasgow Film Festival fast approaching, the David Tennant-starring Mad To Be Normal is nearly upon us. And we're happy to bring you an exclusive trailer for the movie.
The film is a biopic of world-renowned Scottish psychiatrist Ronald David Laing (Tennant) and his colleagues at Kingsley Hall, East London in the 1960s. He pushed back against traditional theories of serious mental dysfunction, working from the idea that the expressed feelings of the individual patient or client were valid descriptions of lived experience rather than simply as symptoms of some separate or underlying disorder.
Robert Mullan, who has written several books on the man, penned the script and is directing, and he, plus Tennant and fellow cast member Michael Gambon, will be in attendance at the world premiere in Glasgow on 26 February (which runs from 15-26 February and you can book tickets here. The film will then arrive on general release in the UK this Spring.
