For a thriller to be selected as a country's submission to the Foreign Language category at the Oscars is quite an achievement, but that's what happened to The Guilty. And now we have an exclusive clip to give you a taste of the tension...

Directed by Gustav Moller, The Guilty follows alarm dispatcher and former police officer, Asger Holm (Jakob Cedergren), who answers an emergency call from a kidnapped woman. When the call is suddenly disconnected, the search for the woman and her kidnapper begins. With the phone as his only tool, Asger enters into a race against the clock to save the endangered woman; soon realising that he is dealing with a more serious crime than he first thought...

The Guilty

Denmark put the film up for submission at the Academy Awards and it also nabbed the Audience Award at Sundance this year. Drawing favourable comparisons to the likes of Locke, it'll screen at the London Film Festival before arriving in UK cinemas nationwide on 26 October.
