It's almost time for Sean Baker's festival favourite follow-up to Tangerine to find its way into UK cinemas. Ahead of that happening, we're pleased to debut a exclusive clip from The Florida Project, featuring some of the young cast and a concerned Willem Dafoe.
The film is set on a stretch of highway outside Disney World, where a budget motel known as The Magic Castle squats unceremoniously. There, six-year-old Moonee (Brooklynn Prince, in the sort of exciting newcomer role Baker has become known for finding) spends her days with her best friend Jancey and lives a life that, while it may not be perfect, is fun and involving.
With her rebellious mother Halley (Bria Vinaite) doing her best to raise her, Moonee also has an unexpected friend in Bobby (Dafoe), who does his best to help out, even as Halley explores more dangerous possibilities to provide for her.
Baker's new movie was originally going to arrive in January here, but that has since been bumped back up to this Friday.
