Thor looks to be getting around a bit in his latest semi-solo outing, Thor: Ragnarok. Displaced from Asgard (under attack by a terrifying threat), he ends up in a weird new environment, and has even been on the cover of Empire. Now he and the rest of the main characters are popping up in character posters for the film, which you can see in the gallery below.
Ragnarok finds Chris Hemsworth's hero dumped on a world run by the Grandmaster (Jeff Goldblum) and forced to do battle in an arena with none other than The Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), who following the events of Avengers: Age Of Ultron, has decided he'd prefer not to turn back into puny Banner all the time, and has developed his speech patterns a little. While Thor finds hope with Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), there's still the matter of Hela (Cate Blanchett), goddess of death to deal with. So he'll need to begrudgingly recruit wayward adopted brother Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and portal guardian Heimdall (Idris Elba) in the battle to stop her destroying everything. And then there's the small matter of tracking down Odin (Anthony Hopkins), whom Loki has been impersonating for a while...
Hunt For The Wilderpeople's Taika Waititi is bringing his trademark wit and warmth to the film, and from what we've seen so far, it's a good fit even given the epic drama of the movie and its place in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. With Benedict Cumberbatch showing up as Dr. Stephen Strange, Thor: Ragnarok will be out in the UK on 24 October ahead of its 3 November US release.
