With just two weeks to go before the voting ends for the People's Choice part of the European Film Awards, we're pleased to report that Britain's finest directors, actors and actresses are all springing to the fore of their respective categories. A press release issued by the Awards' official vote counters today reveals that British talent is coming out on top of the three categories in which the public can vote. The Best Director category, which featured 16 shortlisted contenders, sees both Bridget Jones's Sharon Maguire and Ridley Scott amongst the frontrunners, while Colin Firth, Hugh Grant, Jude Law and Rachel Weisz are all doing well in the Best Actor and Actress sections.
