Having endured a longer than usual wait for the new season of Game Of Thrones (either due to US producer/channel HBO's busy schedule or because they hired Ramsay Bolton to torture fans), we're now close to the series' return. To whet our appetites further, another new trailer is now online. Check it out below.

Season 6 is definitely shaping up to be just as dark and dangerous as we've come to expect from this show, and we'll finally get a proper, solid answer as to whether Kit Harington's Jon Snow is dead or not (probably, but possibly not irretrievably). And, as the show moves forward away from writer George R.R. Martin's novels, we can expect to be guessing about more of our favourites as the season rolls on.

Among the clear highlights here? Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei (Lena Headey), promising to rain violence down upon their enemies, particularly Jonathan Pryce's High Sparrow, Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) looking to launch her own vengeful quest after suffering at the hands of Ramsay (Iwan Rheon), Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) in more trouble than usual, separated from her dragons and in the clutches of the Dothraki, clashes between several forces, the return of Bran Stark (Isaac Hempstead-Wright), who sat out last season, but is back with more visions and more from Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) as he figures out what to do in the wake of Dany's capture. Oh, and from the looks of it, we'll be seeing more of the clammy Night's King (Richard Brake) and his terrifying troops. Forget "Winter is coming"... Winter is here.

Game Of Thrones returns on HBO in the US on April 24, with a simulcast on Sky Atlantic, and then a likely repeat later on April 25.
