While we've seen a film based on Bruce Lee's life recently, it's rare that people try to remake the movies that turned him into a cinematic icon. And despite previous versions vanishing into development limbo, Warner Bros. apparently thinks that Enter The Dragon is still ripe for a remake, and has Deadpool 2's David Leitch in early talks to direct.
While it's quite the wall to climb when you consider the impact of the 1973 movie – which arrived just after Lee's death – Leitch is certainly someone who can deliver on the action level. The biggest challenge, though, is finding someone as charismatic and talented as Lee. The likes of Spike Lee and Brett Ratner have developed takes across the years, but none have come to fruition.
The story sees a Shaolin martial artist entering a karate tournament to get access to an island owned by the secretive Han. He's driven by the need to get revenge for his sister, who killed herself on the island rather than face rape by Han's thugs.
As for Leitch, he's attached to direct Fast & Furious franchise spin-off Hobbs And Shaw and has been considering video game adaptation The Division.
