In her next project, Theron will play the real-life figure of Aileen Wuronos, who - amongst other things - is actually scheduled to be executed by the American state of Florida today, which might give you a slight clue as to the tone of this particular film. After suffering a childhood destroyed by drugs and sexual abuse before turning to prostitution at 14, Wuronos' life turned all the more nasty and tragic after she was convicted of killing seven men in Florida during 1989, earning for herself the title of America's first female serial killer. Unsurprisingly being made as an indie feature in the same vein as the Oscar-winning Monster's Ball and Dead Man Walking, Theron's new film will be called Monster and, if not anything else, will be a chance for the former model to finally flex her acting muscles.
