It’s a brand new era: Marvel are expanding beyond their cinematic universe, as WandaVision marks the comic book titans’ bold new era on the small screen. There had been other Marvel TV projects in the past, but none with the ambitious scope and style of WandaVision, giving the spotlight to the MCU’s strangest couple, Wanda Maximoff and The Vision. It’s also the first piece of MCU content released in over a year, also marking the start of Marvel’s collaboration with Disney+. Strap in, you’re in for a wild ride.

Setting the tone of big things to come, Wanda and Vision tear through reality on the exclusive trippy cover of Empire’s January 2021 issue – Paul Bettany and Elizabeth Olsen pose and smile as both their human and hero selves at once, as two people unravelling reality as we know it. Inside the magazine, you’ll find more exclusive images of the upcoming TV series, as well as an interview with all the major players: MCU boss Kevin Feige explains why Disney+ was the perfect fit; Paul Bettany recalls how Vision came back from the dead; Elizabeth Olsen remembers filming in front of a live audience to channel a classic 1950s TV atmosphere; director Matt Shakman talks about the preparations for an on-set sitcom bootcamp. It’s a glimpse into the exciting next phase of Marvel as we know it, only in Empire Magazine.

Take a look at Marvel’s enigmatic couple on the newsstand cover here, on sale Thursday 26 November.
