One of this summer’s biggest blockbusters has already centred around the concept of time travel – but for the ninth movie from Quentin Tarantino, cinemagoers will be taking an altogether different trip back to the past. The man behind some of the coolest movies to ever hit the big screen is back with Once Upon A Time In Hollywood – an epic odyssey through the final days of the film industry’s Golden Era in 1969. Populating his nostalgic vision of Tinseltown is one of his greatest ever casts – Leonardo DiCaprio as Western TV star and aspiring film actor Rick Dalton, Brad Pitt as his stunt double Rick Dalton, and Margot Robbie as real life movie star Sharon Tate (who was tragically murdered by the Manson family) to name but a few.

For the new issue of Empire, hitting newsstands on Thursday 13 June, we joined QT in the edit suite to get the inside story on this summer’s most exciting film – and chatted to the mega-stars he’s brought in to execute his latest wild vision. Take a look at the cover.

That’s not all – as well as venturing into OUATIH, the issue celebrates Tarantino for Empire 30, with the auteur answering your reader questions, and receiving touching tributes from fellow ‘90s indie filmmakers Robert Rodriguez and Kevin Smith. Stay tuned for more information soon on what else is inside this month.

Oh, and as you can see, this month’s magazine also comes with the new issue of Pilot TV – with the ultimate summer TV preview here to guide you through all the upcoming small-screen blockbusters. Leading the way is Stranger Things 3, with an on-set report from the Starcourt Mall, and brand new interviews with the kids from Hawkins, Indiana.
