Not that we're counting, but there is a mere 105 days until Star Wars: The Last Jedi is released. If, like us, your anticipation could not be any more fevered, here's something to tide you over: Episode VIII gets the full Empire cover treatment this month, with a magical holographic sheen, and an epic eight-page feature inside, to boot. Take a look below at what lucky subscribers will have landing on their doormats any day now.

As you can see, our subscriber cover shows the hand of Daisy Ridley's Rey handing the lightsaber to the robotic hand of Mark Hamill's Luke Skywalker, as seen in the final scene of The Force Awakens and the opening scene of The Last Jedi.

What you can't quite see from this image is that this month's cover is entirely holographic, making it an instant collector's edition. We've given the image a bit of a sheen here to give you an idea, but trust us – nothing quite beats seeing this cover in real life. It is, to paraphrase an old Jedi, a more elegant cover for a more civilised age.

Subscribers will receive their copies in the next few days, while the regular newsstand edition (also holographic, yet to be revealed) goes on sale Thursday 7 September. Want to get stunning limited edition covers like the one above, days before the shops, saving on the cover price? Subscribe to Empire here{ =nofollow}.
