Once again, the Empire Podcast has managed to break free from the shackles of the grey, lifeless pod booth, and enter the three dimensions of the real world. American Airlines Presents Empire Live happened this weekend, and we couldn't resist the opportunity to welcome a near sold-out crowd into The O2's Superscreen for a very special bumper two-hour live podcast.
Two very special guests came along for the very special ride. First up, rising star Tom Bennett – scene-stealer from Love & Friendship, Life On The Road and the upcoming Mascots – came to talk about peas, general nerdery, and "being a comedy prick", as he so self-deprecatingly puts it.
As if that wasn't enough, we also welcomed Luke Cage himself, Mike Colter. Marvel's latest superhero was exactly as smooth, handsome and unbreakably charming as you might expect, and revealed (among other things) that he had not eaten ice-cream in a year. The ultimate sacrifice.
