The newsstand cover of Empire’s March issue is here, and it’s packed with the baddest of the bad in the movie villain stakes. This month it’s all about the Greatest Villains Ever, the most horrible, hissable antagonists to ever grace the silver screen.

Across the cosmically-colored cover you’ll find humanoid monsters (Gollum, Freddy Krueger, the T-1000), monstrous humans (Hans Gruber, The Joker), and not one, but two red lightsaber-wielding icons from a galaxy far, far away. Take a look at the full design below.

Inside there’s the ultimate Vader-vs-Ren Star Wars showdown, a passionate defense of Loki’s innocence in the MCU, and Andy Serkis talking through all of his greatest Middle-earth scenes, which you’re welcome to read in a Gollum voice should you wish.

Elsewhere, there’s an on-set look at Pacific Rim: Uprising, a dive into Duncan Jones’ Mute, and a tribute to Daniel Day-Lewis from the people who directed him, as the screen legend prepares to take his final bow in Phantom Thread.

The issue hits the shelves on Thursday 25 January, or you can make sure you get Empire delivered directly to your door (with exclusive cover designs) by subscribing here{ =nofollow}.
