Infinity War might have left with the Avengers in serious strife (to put it mildly), but there’s still hope — Hope Van Dyne, who’s suiting up alongside Scott Lang in the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe instalment, Ant-Man and the Wasp. Empire’s July issue hits shelves this week, zooming right in on Marvel’s smallest heroes.

The newsstand cover shows off the new refined looks of Evangeline Lilly and Paul Rudd’s hi-tech heroes — check out that slick Wasp suit upgrade in close-up — and if you look closely you’ll find some familiar Marvel nods elsewhere on the cover. Inside the mag you’ll find a massive interview with the pair, as well as a breakdown of Hope’s costume and plenty of exclusive images.

Elsewhere we go deep on Mission: Impossible — Fallout with writer-director Christopher McQuarrie (and listeners of the Empire Podcast will know that guy can talk), David Lynch reflects on the tumultuous making of The Elephant Man, and get fresh looks at some of this year’s most exciting upcoming releases: Shane Black’s The Predator, Freddie Mercury biopic Bohemian Rhapsody, Lisbeth Salander’s return in The Girl in the Spider’s Web, and Tom Hardy’s comic antihero Venom.

Pick the issue up when it hits newsstands on Thursday 14 June, and if you want to receive exclusive alternative cover designs — like our Ant-Man and the Wasp cover by Marvel Studios’ concept artist Andy Park — sign up here for a subscription.
