Like a rising tide of thesping, the flow of casting announcements for Darren Aronofsky’s Noah is increasing each day. The latest performer haggling for a ticket to ride the boat is Emma Watson.

With Russell Crowe long set to play the title role, word arrived earlier this week that Percy Jackson**’s Logan Lerman and Great Expectations’ Douglas Booth were signing on to play Noah’s sons, Ham and Shem.

Deadline reports that if she signs a deal, Watson will be Ila, a young woman who starts a relationship with Shem. And talking of casting, there still appears to be no confirmation yet on whether Jennifer Connelly will play Noah’s wife. Variety has heard that Julianne Moore is also in conention for that role, while Liev Schreiber might be the man to play the nemesis for our boat-building hero. Sadly, that probably doesn't mean he'll be an officious sort down at Ancient B&Q who refuses to give Noah a good deal on lumber.

With a script by Aronofsky and Hugo writer John Logan, Noah is scheduled to start shooting in New York and Iceland at the start of August.

Watson has been a busy woman of late. She’ll appear alongside Lerman in The Perks Of Being A Wallflower (which is still awaiting a UK release date) and has recently shot The Bling Ring. Right now, she’s working on The End Of The World with Seth Rogen, Jay Baruchel and a bucket load of cameos.
