Back in February, the news broke that Sideways' Alexander Payne would be headed back into food and drink territory with a new horror comedy called The Menu. He's now found what he hopes are the right ingredients for this movie, as Emma Stone and Ralph Fiennes considered to star.
No deals have been done yet, but Collider has heard that the actors are at the top of Payne's wish list for the film. Will Tracy and Seth Reiss wrote the script, which focuses on a young couple who visits an exclusive destination restaurant on a remote island where the acclaimed chef has prepared a lavish tasting menu, along with some shocking surprises.
Stone would be half of the couple, while Fiennes is being courted to play the chef. With Adam McKay and Will Ferrell producing via their Gary Sanchez company, there's no word yet on when this one might start shooting.
Fiennes has The White Crow in UK cinemas and will be seen in Official Secrets, Kingsman: The Great Game and is back again as M for the 25th official Bond film. Stone has Zombieland: Double Tap due this year and is back as the voice of Eep for The Croods 2, scheduled for 2020.
