In an age where actors like Scarlett Johansson are launching legal action against Disney over lost earnings from its theatrical/Disney+ release model, others seem to be making new deals with the company to return. As the Mouse House continues development of a Cruellasequel, word arrives that star Emma Stone has officially made a deal to reprise the title role.
With director Craig Gillespie and writer Tony McNamara also ready to return, Stone was a key component in building on the success of the first, and both the studio and her representatives took some time to hammer out a deal that benefitted both her and Disney.
The next question, of course, is whether it'll end up appearing both in cinemas and Disney+ like the first, but given that it'll be a while before it appears, there's a chance the cinema situation will be closer to normal – at least, we can only hope.
