You may have heard that Stranger Things 3 won’t be hitting your Netflix account in 2018 – and certainly not in time for Halloween like Season 2. But worry not, because the streaming service has some other blockbuster-scale TV for you to look forward to in the form of Maniac, and it's coming out this September. The project is largely being kept a mystery, but it boasts some amazing talent in front of and behind the camera – take a look in this first teaser.

First things first, the cast: Jonah Hill and Emma Stone are the stars here, bringing A-list status to the show. Justin Theroux, Sally Field and Jemima Kirke are also starring, though you don’t see them in this teaser. Second, the series’ director is Cary Joji Fukunaga, the man behind True Detective Season 1 (aka the really good one), and the writer-director of Beasts of No Nation.

From what we know, the show is a black comedy following Hill and Stone’s characters as they enter a medical drug trial which claims to be able to solve… well, anything to do with the mind. It sounds both cryptic and ominous – and we’ll know for sure what it’s all about when the full season hits the streaming service on 21 September.
