Well, that was fast: a mere two weeks after it got snapped up by Fox 2000, Lauren Kahn’s script H****e’s Fuckin’ Perfect** now has Emma Stone circling the lead role.
Actually, Stone was always supposed to be involved, since Adam McKay and Will Ferrell are producing via their Gary Sanchez company and sent the script directly to the actress in the hopes that she’d want to star. The screenplay leaked somehow and sparked a bidding war that Fox 2000 eventually won.
He’s Fuckin' Perfect revolves around a young woman who Facebook-stalks the men her friends are dating so she can check to make sure they’re not weirdoes. On one info-gathering click-fest, however, she discovers that one of her best mates’ new blokes is everything she’s looking for in a man, so she tries to convince her to dump him…
Kahn’s story is an interesting one itself, since she’s spent the last few years as McKay’s assistant and worked on Funny Or Die shorts with the company. Now she’s switched to film scriptwriting and landed a big sale with her first attempt.
There’s no word on when this might shoot – and no director attached yet, but with Stone’s schedule seemingly clear, it could be filming next year. The actress is currently at work on Gangster Squad and has The Croods, Movie 43 and a little film called The Amazing Spider-Man set for release next year.
