She may no longer be planning to get criminal for Harmony Korine’s girls-gone-really-wild comedy drama Spring Breakers, but Emma Roberts still seems attracted to the cinematically illegal side of life. She’s signed on to join the cast of Dito Monteil’s heist pic Empire State.
Dwayne Johnson and Liam Hemsworth are already aboard to star in the story of two childhood friends from New York (Hemsworth will be one of the pair) who plan to rob an armoured card depository. Johnson will be the NYPD detective who will do whatever it takes to bring them down. Now Roberts will be playing a waitress who shows some romantic interest in Hemsworth’s wannabe thief.
Breach writer Adam Mazer is back in real-life territory, as the film's plot is based on events that happened back in 1982. There’s no word on whether Roberts’ character really exists, but it would certainly help with her research if she does…
