Rapper to appear in Lazarus

Controversial rapper Eminem is being fiercely pursued by Hollywood. He has been offered $4 million to star in Lazarus. Eminem and the equally provocative hip-hop star DMX would play two rappers who are killed, and then resurrected. When they return one (DMX) is good and the other (surprise, surprise, Eminem) is evil. The project, which was once planned as the fourth installment of The Crow series, has now been turned into a stand-alone script. The unlikely forces behind the project are Universal Pictures and Ron Howard and Brian Grazer's Imagine Entertainment, better known for the likes of The Grinch, Parenthood and The Nutty Professor. But the two leads might have to sort out their negotiations around their jail time - DMX is currently serving 15 days for driving and drug charges, and Eminem is awaiting sentencing for carrying a concealed weapon. It would be Eminem's first film role, as he turned down an offer to star oppostie Denzel Washington in Training Day. DMX's movie career has had a more promising start, with a lead role in Belly, and a cameo in last year's Romeo Must Die. He will next be seen in Exit Wounds with, er, Steven Seagal.
